Hi,
I also watched the program on Aaj Tak that night. Its really very shameful that political
leaders, who are well educated and can contribute for the development of this state are
involved in such scams (Although facts are yet to prove by some agency like CBI/CID).
The points which News Channal claimed looks very realistic, like, Government issued
more than 75 Mega Watts for the same person which is totally against the Law of
Uttarakhand state.

Aaj Tak telecasted a video clip also where one political leader is sharing the information
that most of the tenders are given to the relatives of Chief Minister (As per News Chennal
and that Leader) and somebody offered him also the same proposal by paying 5 Lacs
Rupees or so and the tender will be issued for that Leader's name but that leader refused
to accpet that offer!!

Enough happened when the Chennal verified about the addresses mentioned on
Uttrakhand website which were not correct and while visiting the location, they found
some residential houses in that area instead of Industry.

Its our fault also that we send wrong leaders in the assembly and they represent
State/Country and ultimately we have to suffer.

Good to see the voices rising against these corruption issues wide prevailing in Uttrakhand now.

I still remember the days when the Demand for Uttrakhand state was in full swing....the days when huge number of youngsters were arrested and put in Jails of outside cities...... days when the Mulayam govt. Massacred a number of people going to Delhi.....

All this has been forgotten by these politicians. ....CM comes on TV and says Congress has swindled money during its tenure....So, why don't he bring forth those facts in front of government.. ..Congress again puts the blame on BJP.....This has resulted in no extension of the industrial package rather I should say the package was withdrawn before its due date.....

The poor people in our villages in Garhwal and Kumaon are still suffering... ....This is really a pathetic situation... ..It
really demands a second people's movement.... people who really deserve to come to the state politics ....There are really a lot more deserving people of Uttrakhand who can do a lot better.....

Thanks Narendra Ji and and Kailash G for your comments and raising your voice against the corruption. You will surprise to know that someone from Dehradun is supporting Govt and CM. He says this is campaign by Aaj tak and merapahad defame the Govt.

You are right that corruption is a Cancer to the entire society & this is happening every where. As an Individual or groups, lets start the campaign from where we are based & spread it out to the maximum people. Like M.S. Mehtaji has posted the mail in the Mera Pahad group, we can create more & more awareness all over. However the ultimate result will come when our people in Pahad become aware & awaken to come forward.They can really put the pressure on local, state & central level Political Leaders..

I am surprised at the silence maintainted by the members of online community on such a big expose by AAJ TAK Channel.

We have been claiming of running many organisations / online groups for the cause of development of Uttarakhand.

Corruption is a cancer in our society which is stripping us of the valuable resources. It appears corruption is not being taken seriously anymore by the electorate of this country. The valuable resources, if employed meaningfull y would result into poverty elimination in Uttarakhand.

We have recently witnessed E mails criticising each other which would run into hours and hours on issues would be of no meaning to the poorest of the poor of DEVBHOOMI.

I appeal thru this mail to the intellectual class of the online & offline community to raise this issue at all possible levels, if we consider corruption as crime and unpardanoble sin.

If, we have accepted corruption as routine as a cup of tea in our daily life, then my request would be to please maintain your silence to best of your ability.

And my request..... ......... ......... Please dont utter Jai Uttarakhand at the end of your mails / speeches if your your not raising your voice against people who are plundering our DEVBHOOMI.

On 04 May 2010, India's No1 News Channel Aaj tak exposed a Power Scam in Uttarakhand. It was an hour programme where Chief Minister of Uttarahkand was also invited by the Channel to answer questions. The channel claimed that a big scam has taken place in power sector in Uttarakhand. Those who missed the programme can have a look here and watch the videos.
