Dear friends,
On 27th September 2010, Foundation Shurwaat  has taken initiative to seek suggestion of our members about how we can help our peoples who badly affected due to recent landslikes and cloundbrust rain in Uttarakhand.  After 12 days, we got some suggestions from our members which are given below:
·         To contribute in chief minister disaster relife fund
·         Contributing to Chief minister relief fund may not result the utmost use of contributed fund as well as it involved corruption situation.
·         Contact our relative in various parts of Uttaranchal to know the actual situation of relief work
·         To locate any organisation, who is physically present in Uttarakhand flood effected area and distributing the relief items to the needy peoples.
After discussion with some contacts in hilly Uttarakhand as well as personal visit to Kotdwara, Rishikesh and Dehradun, I found that relief work in progress but not in a full pace.  The relief work running in city area only.  However, remote area is still untouch for relief work either from Government side or NGO side due to non-connectivity with mainland.  I observed the following:
·         Today's priority is to connect remote area to mainland by repairing of roads.  Because due to non-connection of road, the remote areas people is badly affecting as there is no foodgrain as well as gas, kerocine oil, sugar and other small day to day items which is necessary for living.
·         There is no NGO working in remote area.  NGO based Dehradun, Haldwani, Almora, Kotdwara, Haridwar, Nainital are working in their base area and touch some area near their base.  Even they are no in a position to give basic stuffs to the affected people.
·         Even UNICEF is working with Government for help.  But UNICEF has not touch Uttarakhand for relief work. However, they are doing relief work in Uttar Pradesh. They had supplied tarpaulin sheets, jerry cans, water purification tablets and mosquito nets, among other items, to more than 8,000 displaced families in Uttar Pradesh.  Even they had not open specific donation for Uttarakhand relief work.
On the basis of the fact and to know the geographical situation of Uttarakhand, I personally suggest it is better to us to donate Chief Minister Relief Fund. All members are requested to donate in FS account for relief work.  We may wait for one month i.e. 8th November 2010.  Thereafter if some NGO like Art of Living is doing relif work in Uttaranchal, we may give consolidated donation to that NGO otherwise we may donate it to Chief Minister Relief Fund.
This is my personal view hence anybody is free to choose the way through he want to help landslide affected people of Uttarakhand.

Regards
Deepak Chaudhary

KESS 2010 – An
Uttaranchali Cultural Quest

by Uttaranchali Association
of Emirates

This Event was an effort from All

Talents and pass the information to younger generation which is far away from
Dev-Bhoomi. KESS 2010 (Kavya Evam Sanskritik Sammelan) organized by UAE Group
on 8th of Oct 2010 at Sekh Rashid Auditorium, Dubai. 32 fellow UAE
based Uttaranchalis actively Participated on Stage and approx 500 witnessed the
mega cultural Extravaganza.

As any cultural event should start
with the name of the God, so KESS 2010 started with "Nanda Devi
Stuti", a traditional "Doli" was brought with

to address the crowd.

First event was Uttaranchali Poetry

Negi's thoughts on the pain of Uttaranchali Farmer, Vimla Rawat's
message for Uttaranchali Migrants & Udai Mamgain's words on
Uttaranchali women were outstanding. Pratibimb Barthwal ji was good as always

been rated. Vinod Jethuri, Santosh Rana & Gyan Singh were also applauded.

Vishal Naithani Ji remembered great
Garhwali Poet Abodh Bandh Bahuguna and recited few lines on Anupras Alankaar
used by him, where he wrote 7 words on each hindi Alphabet. What a Great Poet
he was!

After some serious thoughts now it
was the turn for some laughter and Rohit Kavtiyal, Udai Ram Mamgain, NandKishor
Godiyal & Deep Negi brought the same on every face by their mimicry acts.
