Nanda Devi Campaign: Ecotourism Workshop 2001

In the fall of 2001, the Nanda Devi communities invited ecotourism experts to a workshop that would formerly launch the next phase of their campaign for livelihood rights in the biosphere region. Sampled here are glimpses of the workshop that included a whole community gathering, tours of the area, and an interview with Bali Devi, a local woman leader, explaining their rationale for opening up the area to community-based ecotourism.
