To get things straight , this is not a spam.

This is my only way to open a thought process and maybe somebody in "corridors of power" may come across this mail and understand why it is the only way to combat terrorism which is now affecting our daily thought processes , just as a simple bout of viral fever  ,which can happen to anyone, anywhere and anytime however many precautions you take.
One thing is for sure that due to social, economic, religious and educational  imbalances ,this will stay forever in this world .Due to huge and dense populations and hungry media , this evil can never be eliminated as the fodder for spreading terrorism is present in unlimited quantities everywhere.

Now I will come to the main topic as to why I started this mail.

Compulsory Military Training

--- Why nobody in the authorities thinks of a simple measure of inculcating discipline in a hugely indisciplined population right from the beginning.
--- How can a simple 6 months compulsory military training to every student infringe on their human rights .
--- Does democracy means that a teenager cannot be forced to join compulsory military training and he can waste his years sloganeering for union election on the roadsides and blowing their parents' hard earned money on coffee outlets.

 DIRECT BENEFITS

-- Security procedures of "what to do" and "what not to do " in emergency situations will become a part of every days life and the next generation will be mentally stronger.

-- Terrorist always acts silently as he also fears to get caught , AND when he is aware that he is dealing with an intelligent set of people he is also stressed and fearful.

Right now, he is using the cheapest means , which probably may not be even costing them few hundred ruppees but are capable to create losses worth crores and innumerous lives. And after realising that this is the easiest and cheapest game, they are playing it everywhere and scoring. Now can the cycles, dustbins be banned . NO !! but maybe even 5 alert persons can spot hte planter.
Ask in a local train or a bus about a hanging handbag, see the strange look in everybody's eyes as if the person who is enquiring has committed a crime. And see how rudely the person to whom the bag belongs reacts .THIS IS THE MOMENT OF TRUTH.

Government , police , army , they can control the aftermath, but they can not anticipate a diseased mind , if this was true then USA with all its might and intelligence could have stopped 9/11.

INDIRECT BENEFITS

--- Huge additional manpower to engage in non emergency situations helping the already stressed forces.
--- Today's youth will truely understand what is meant by "Loyalty" towards the nation ,rather than learning the meaning of loyalty from "Rang de basanti" and  "Lage raho Munnabhai "
--- I feel some of the budget invested on disciplining and creating mentally strong youth by  elimination of this FEAR FACTOR of terrorism effects the phsycic ,which will pay rich dividends in the long run. India is not that a poor country and the amount of festivals we celebrate and shamelessly spend are a proof to this.
--- Involvement of youth in affairs of the country will attract more youth into the forces from all the background , communities and states ,thus making it truely representative.
--- Corruption ,if at all existing in the forces would be tackled to some extent ,as playing with a raw and a new set of individuals who have nothing at stake ,will make corrupt people play safe .

A lot can be written on this issue but the purpose is to find solutions and not bore people so that they may not even read it .

Think aloud !!

If mobile and laptops are a routine  today which never existed 15years back .
Similarly,  everyday street terrorism is also a disease which is affecting  everybody today ,which was not their 15 years back.

How to eliminate this fear factor ?

Please discuss ? And give me one good reason why COMPULSORY MILITARY TRAINING is not a good idea.

We cannot think of becoming a great economy living in a fool's paradise ,where a hidden entity can create panic in minds of millions by spending few hundred ruppees.

AND MEDIA YOU PLEASE KEEP ON HELPING  THESE TERRORISTS WITH                 " BREAKING NEWS " and free publicity which is making them more bolder and on the contrary MAKE A BILLION STRONG POPULATION MENTALLY WEAK A BIT DAY BY DAY in your pursuit of high TRPs.

a foot soldier just thinking aloud,

Arvind Upreti
