Happy Phool Deyee to All.
On this glorious occasion, i would like to wish you all a very happy Phool Deyee, its utterly an Uttarakhandi festival indeed. Phool Deyee celebrated on d first day of month Chaitra, on Meen Sankraanti (When Sun enters in Pisces). It’s commonly considered as a children's Festival. In d evening day before kids use to pick different kind of flowers from nearby jungle or fields,later early in the morning thy put thm on "Deyii"(threshold) of every house in the Village, probably that’s how d name Phool Deyee might have appeared. In return People use to give them Gud,

Chawal, Misri, Toffee, Biscuits etc. Some how its very similar to d Halloween. The jingle wch is been sung by the kids during walk goes as “PHOOL DEYI CHchAMmA DEYI, JADUGAI DINCHA UDUGAI SAHI, DAINI DWAR BHARI BHAKAR TERI DEYI MERI DEYI BARAM-BAAR NAMASKAAR”. Later in the evening collected rice and other stuff is been used to prepare some delicious cuisines, like CHOI, SAI etc. (Preparation is given underneath)..at d same time wanted to give the flavor of Uttarakhandi Holi too,,,just a click away,

Preparation Method :
Begin up with approximate of Rice, put thm in water for 3-4 hrs, later crush/grind it in electric grinder (use sil-batta for delicious taste). Boil Desi Gheen in a pan (Kadahii). Put crushed rice in that pan, add dry fruits accordingly (for modern version). Mix the Gud, sugar or salt as per your taste and keep stirring d combination until brownish color appears.
