hi all

For last one year I have been living in our home state. It has been
year full of frustrations be it on account of realizing how un-pahari
like behaviour we have to face everyday in dehradun from even a
grocery shopkeeper to i must say highest position in the state.

The latest news about Ganga issue has made me vent my frustration
with the fellow group members and I hope that others will take it in
right spirit.

Till now we have been boasting about our state as Oorja Pradesh and
were selling rights to milk the rivers for Power hungry nation to
anyone who comes with bagfulls of money. No one bothered to think
about people living upstream or downstream. Now since Sant mahatma
has given a call for Ganga Bachao our politicians have started to
milk the issue. I was surprised to read a statement from CM with
effect that government is willing to stop Pala Maneri and such
projects if need be!!

This is just one issue. Being from border district I get to feel the
neglect of the state everyday on every issue. If the roads are being
made in my home district, it is for the strategic defence needs or to
help Kailash mansarovar yatra. If ration and health facilities are
being mobilized it is for Kailash mansarovar yatra!!! what about
local people ?? Only when votes are needed then one tends praise
border people adjectives like seema ke prahari and what not!! Rest of
the time governments treat border area as just real estate property
and people as the unwanted squatters !!!

When will we get actually a hill state in effect??

Sorry if anyone feels I am out of line here...!! just thought i
should share it with pahari folks!!
